Update: James Wan NOT Directing I Know What You Did Last Summer TV Pilot!

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Update: We talked to Wan via FaceBook and he clarified that he is NOT directing the pilot for this. More to follow as we get more info, but it appears Deadline jumped the gun on this info…

Original Story:

Now here's something I didn't see coming! Apparently, Amazon is bringing I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER to its streaming service as a brand new series. That could be pretty cool, but NOW it was just revealed that none other than James Wan would be directing the pilot episode! Now THAT is freakin awesome! Neil H. Moritz just announced on Deadline that James Wan is attached to direct with Shay Hatten writing.

No clue if they'll be switching around the story, but if Mr. Wan is involved, there must be something horrifically amazing up their sleeves! Now, let's see if they can get the original cast (Jennifer Love Hewitt, Freddie Prinze Jr., Sarah Michelle Gellar and Ryan Phillippe) to make guest appearances. I thought the first I KNOW WHAT YOU DID was a pretty fun piece of horror pop, but the sequels blew. Because of Mr. Wan, I'm definitely willing to give this series a shot whenever it comes to fruition. How do you feel about this? Are you hooked? Please, comment below!
