Jamie Lee Curtis reflects on her most famous movies – from Halloween to True Lies and more

Ahead of concluding her run as Laurie Strode this month with Halloween Ends, Jamie Lee Curtis is reflecting on some of her other classic movies, with some fan favorites among them.

In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Jamie Lee Curtis opened up about her 40-plus-year career, covering a range from her debut in 1978’s Halloween to this year’s Everything Everywhere All at Once.

For Halloween, Jamie Lee Curtis recalled the amount of work that had to be done considering the tight shooting schedule. “I remember how much I loved being part of that group of young filmmakers.”

Curtis praised her Trading Places (1983) director John Landis for sticking his neck out for her, saying, “Landis had chosen me against everyone’s feelings, advice…” She also recalled one time Eddie Murphy showed up late to the set–one time, as Landis made him an example

Despite earning a Golden Globe nomination for A Fish Called Wanda (1988), Jamie Lee Curtis had a pretty dismal experience, being a new mom and having to leave her daughter at home. She also bought a cheeky present for some of her British co-stars. “I bought toothbrushes because we were going to be swapping spit.”

For James Cameron’s True Lies (1994), Curtis praised her director for giving her “freedom” and the stunts she was involved with, particularly one thrilling car chase. “There are those moments where you go, wow. I mean, I’m having a lot of wow moments, but that was a wow moment.”

Jamie Lee Curtis also touched on 2003’s Freaky Friday, 2019’s Knives Out and more.

Halloween Ends will be Jamie Lee Curtis’ seventh and final outing as Laurie Strode. Halloween Ends comes to theaters and streams on Peacock on October 14th.
