Jennifer Lawrence has met with Ghostbusters 3 director Paul Feig

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

So many of you were not fans of the reveal that Rebel Wilson had met with director Paul Feig about a potential role in GHOSTBUSTERS 3. I understand, she is a polarizing actress whom many dislike. A lot of comments compared her to Melissa McCarthy as someone fans either love or hate. But, how would you feel about Jennifer Lawrence taking a role in the film?

In a video posted by MTV UK, they interviewed numerous celebrities during their press junkets, including Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, and many more about who they would like to see in GHOSTBUSTERS 3. Names like Juno Temple, Julianne Moore, Sandra Bullock, Elizabeth Banks and more were named. When Jennifer Lawrence was asked, she mentioned meeting with Paul Feig but does not deny that it was regarding GHOSTBUSTERS 3. Now, this could be a reach, but even in the context of the video, Lawrence definitely makes it seem like their dinner meeting was about the all female film.

Now, Jennifer Lawrence is an actress who has shown she can handle drama and comedy equally well. If this film is going to comprise actresses like her, Emma Stone, Kristen Wiig, and Juno Temple, then we have a potentially good film on our hands. But, that would also fly in the face of the kinds of films Paul Feig is known for. Still, we can dream that Jennifer Lawrence could headline this film despite her reveal later in the video (1:50 mark) that she didn’t even know GHOSTBUSTERS 2 existed. Oh, Jennifer.
