Jennifer’s Comic

I wouldn’t be able to tell you why exactly but for some reason Karyn Kusama’s JENNIFER’S BODY is hanging around at the top of my most anticipated genre flicks list. Maybe it’s because the story is actually pretty damn original for a major genre flick…. maybe it’s because the script comes from the talented(?) Diablo Cody… or maybe it’s just because Megan Fox is smoking hot and I can’t wait to see her as a cheerleader? Either way this one is up there for me.

So naturally any and all JENNIFER’S BODY news has my ears… and other parts of me… standing up at attention. Today’s no different with the news that BOOM! Studios will be bringing us a graphic novel version of JENNIFER’S BODY to tie in with this Summer’s film! Here’s the description from BOOM!’s official site:

The movie event of the Fall is the comic book event of this Summer! JUNO’s award-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody brings you JENNIFER’S BODY starring Megan Fox as a demonically-possessed cheerleader with a taste for killing teenage boys! In this original graphic novel that ties into the movie and expands on its universe, BLACK METAL’s Rick Spears brings you even more hellish Jennifer stories with art by HACK/SLASH’s Tim Seely, KICK DRUM COMIX’ Jim Mahfood, DMZ’s Nikki Cook, and POPGUN’s Ming Doyle.

Works for me! Personally I’ll hold out for the flick and if it knocks me off my feet I’ll think about checking this bad boy out. It’s looking like the JENNIFER’S BODY graphic novel will be hitting shelves sometime this August in anticipation of the film’s September 18th release. It’s looking at a price tag of $24.99. Meanwhile I’ll be picking up this BOOM! release as soon as it hits shelves!

Reason enough to see TRANSFORMERS 2
