Jerry Bruckheimer explains why the mermaids in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides needed real boobs

JoBloJoBlo

If you wanted the role of a mermaid in PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES one of the requirements was natural breasts. None of that busted plastic surgery shit.

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer is a man who seems to enjoy a good pair of breasts. Last Spring, the casting call even noted, “Must have real breasts. Do not submit if you have implants.” What was Bruckheimer’s explanation? “I don’t think they had breast augmentation in the 1700s. So it’s natural for casting people to say, ‘We want real people.’” Well sure there was no one giving out boob jobs in the 1700’s, Captain Obvious. On the other hand, mermaids aren’t real so this argument in invalid.

But I get what he’s saying. While some men might think mermaids with huge implants might be hot, regardless of whether or not mermaids or real, ladies still weren’t getting boob jobs. So why the hell would a mermaid have a boob job? I mean, unless her sister was Ariel and she felt inferior and had some daddy issues…but that’s a story for another day.

Below is immediately what I thought of after I read this mermaid/boobs story.
