Jerusalem’s Lot series with Adrien Brody now called Chapelwaite?

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Late last year, we passed along word that Epix has given a 10-episode straight-to-series order to a drama based on IT author Stephen King's short story JERUSALEM’S LOT starring Adrien Brody. But today we're hearing that the series will be going by the title CHAPELWAITE.

Which makes sense if you're familiar with the short story and the back story of SALEM'S LOT. But, no worries, for those who aren't. It refers to a super sinister house (not the Marsten house specifically) that once resided in The Lot. And given this is a prequel series, again, the name makes sense.

Production is set to begin on JERUSALEM’S LOT (or, you know, CHAPELWAITE) in May 2020 with a planned release in FALL 2020 with Peter Filardi (SALEM'S LOT, FLATLINERS) and Jason Filardi (17 AGAIN, BRINGING DOWN THE HOUSE) writing the series which is set in the 1850s and follows

Captain Charles Boone (Brody), who relocates his family of three children to his ancestral home in the small, seemingly sleepy town of Preacher’s Corners, Maine after his wife dies at sea. However, Charles will soon have to confront the secrets of his family’s sordid history, and fight to end the darkness that has plagued the Boones for generations.

Epix President Michael Wright says:

This series is an intense, absolutely terrifying reimagining of classic gothic horror. We can’t wait to work with the exceptional team of Donald De Line and Jason and Peter Filardi, along with our phenomenal lead actor, Adrien Brody…and of course, when it comes to horror, it doesn’t get any better or more masterful than Stephen King.

The Filardi brothers will serve as showrunners and executive produce with Donald De Line (READY PLAYER ONE, WAYWARD PINES). Once again, Production is set to begin in May 2020 in Nova Scotia with a planned release in FALL 2020. Are you excited about this new series? Let us know below!
