John Hyams’ Alone: Featurette goes behind the scenes of survival thriller

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Back in September, Magnet Releasing gave a theatrical and On Demand to release to director John Hyams' survival thriller Alone (watch it HERE). The film is now available on DVD and Blu-ray (pick up a copy HERE), and to mark the occasion we've gotten our hands on a behind-the-scenes featurette that digs into the story through interviews with Hyams and stars Jules Willcox and Marc Menchaca. Watch it in the embed above!

Alone is a remake of the 2011 Swedish film Gone (a.k.a. Forsvunnen), which was directed by Mattias Olsson and Henrik JP Åkesson from a script written by Olsson. Olsson returned to write the screenplay for Alone, telling the story of

recently widowed Jessica who, fleeing the city in a desperate attempt to cope with the loss of her late husband, is kidnapped and locked away in a mysterious man’s cabin. Her escape from the clutches of this murderous captor land her in the heart of the untamed wilderness, with only her wits to rely on for survival as her pursuer closes in.

Willcox and Menchaca are joined in the cast by Anthony Heald.

Alone was produced by Jordan Foley and Jonathan Rosenthal through their company Mill House Motion Pictures, along with Mike Macari and Åkesson. Yeardley Smith and Ben Cornwell of Paperclip Limited serve as executive producers.

I watched the movie back in October and found it to be very entertaining and engaging. I highly recommend that thriller fans check out Alone.
