Jonah Hex finally rated with a weaksauce PG-13

I was beginning to wonder about JONAH HEX. For the last few weeks I’ve been seeing increasing amounts of trailers on TV, each one looking more pimped out than the one before it, and each one telling me that “This Film Is Not Yet Rated.” For a film that’s set to be released next Friday, that’s pretty flippin’ nuts right there.

To me, the story, the action, and everything about it screams R rating, and that’s what I’ve been expecting… so color me disappointed when I caught a fresh trailer for it last night, and was told that the film was rated PG-13. Whaaa? Boooo!

Was there such a delay because producers had to keep cutting the film down to squeek by with a PG-13? If that’s the case, I guess I’ll be waiting for the Unrated DVD to hit, because Homey Don’t Play That. A PG-13 movie is a PG-13 movie, but an R movie cut to a PG-13 is f*cking bullshite.

I have yet to find the reasons of the PG-13, but I’m guessing “fantasy violence throughout and a scene of sensuality” or some bullshit like that. Stick around for the nitty gritty as we hear it. In the meantime, get ready for Josh Brolin and Megan Fox in PG-13 mode with JONAH HEX, in theaters June 18, 2010.

There’s nothing PG-13 about that ass…
