Well folks it’s a done deal. After several weeks of it being rumored it’s finally confirmed: Joseph Gordon-Levitt will be starring in Christopher Nolan’s THE DARK KNIGHT RISES.
Hell people have been speculating about whether Gordon-Levitt (right) would be in this thing since talk about BATMAN 3 first started. If I remember correctly he was the early favorite for ‘The Riddler.’ Alas we all know ‘The Riddler’ isn’t in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES so who could Gordon-Levitt be playing? Word quickly spread that maybe he’d be ‘Black Mask’ in association with that *SPOILERS AHEAD* League of Shadows rumored plot *END SPOILERS* but now Variety is noting that several blogs are bringing up the name ‘Deadshot.’ Yes, ‘Deadshot!’ Well hot damn where did that come from?
One thing is for sure – Joseph Gordon-Levitt will be in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES alongside Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman and Anne Hathaway. Variety also reports that Juno Temple is in talks to join the film as a ‘Street-smart Gotham girl.’
Nolan is busily finishing the script for THE DARK KNIGHT RISES as you read this with a July 20, 2012 release date already tapped. You can bet we’ll keep you updated on all things Batman every step of the way!
