Sony brought us the recent Goosebumps feature films and Netflix released the Fear Street trilogy back in July, now Disney+ is getting in on the R.L. Stine adaptation action with the horror comedy anthology series Just Beyond, which will be making its debut on the streaming service on October 13th. Less than two weeks out from the show’s premiere, a trailer has arrived online and is embedded above.

Seth Grahame-Smith is writing and showrunning the anthology, with The Amazing Spider-Man‘s Marc Webb directing the first two episodes. The show is inspired by the Just Beyond graphic novels published by Boom! Studios, which have the following description:

Middle school feels like the worst place imaginable, but for Jess, Josh, and Marco, their school may actually be the worst place in this world… or any other! After a chance encounter with a deadly creature stalking the school halls, these three unsuspecting students are whisked away to a horrifying realm beyond the school boiler room where they must unravel a terrifying mystery. Can they save the kids they find there and escape themselves, or will they be forever trapped Just Beyond?

The first season of Just Beyond is set to consist of eight standalone episodes that will tell

astonishing and thought-provoking stories of a reality just beyond the one we know. Each episode introduces viewers to a new cast of characters who must go on a surprising journey of self-discovery in a supernatural world of witches, aliens, ghosts and parallel universes.

The cast includes Mckenna Grace, Gabriel Bateman, Lexi Underwood, Cedric Joe, Nasim Pedrad, Riki Lindhome, Henry Thomas, and Rachel Marsh. Grahame-Smith and Webb are executive producing Just Beyond with David Katzenberg, Aaron Schmidt, David Walpert, Ross Richie, Stephen Christy, and Mark Ambrose. Stine serves as co-executive producer. The show is being produced by 20th Television, a part of Disney Television studios.
