Karl Urban officially in talks for Dredd: Mega City One TV Series

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Let's take a pulse upfront: Would you watch a DREDD: MEGA CITY ONE TV series without Karl Urban?

Well friends, you may not have to. Three months ago we let you know Urban may return to the new TV series titled DREDD: MEGA CITY ONE. Today, we've learned Urban has officially begun discussion with producers to return.

The drop comes from The Playlist, which relays a quote of Urban's from the Las Vegas Star Trek Convention. When asked about a possible return to the small-screen as DREDD, despite a woeful box-office performance of the 2012 film he starred in, Karl had this to say:

“I am in discussions with them about that, I told them that if they write the material and give Dredd something to do and give him a function, I will be there. I would love to.”

We'd love it too, Karl!

Slated for a 2018 release, DREDD: MEGA CITY ONE shapes up like so:

Set in a future where the entire East Coast of the United States has become one crowded metropolis. The show will feature an ensemble of Judges – future cops who are endowed with the power of a traditional judge, jury, and executioner – as they attempt to curb crime in the 22nd century.

We'll be sure to dish out more DREDD: MEGA CITY ONE news as it drops.

Where in the Horror is DREDD star Olivia Thirlby!?
