HERCULES: THE LEGEND BEGINS is gearing up for release next year and star Kellan Lutz wants you to know about it. The actor recorded a video intro from the set of THE EXPENDABLES 3 for a brief teaser of the film, which gives us our first glimpse at Renny Harlin‘s next venture on the big screen. The footage is sparse, but gives a decent tease of Lutz as the Son of Zeus, and definitely has a GLADIATOR-esque feel to it. It’s not much to go on and I think the popular thing will be to bash it, but I’m holding out hope that it can be a fun return to form for Harlin, who I’ve missed sorely since his DIE HARD 2, CLIFFHANGER, and THE LONG KISS GOODNIGHT days.
Take a peek:
I met Lutz on the set of THE EXPENDABLES 3 and will say that he was really cool, friendly, and humble, so my perspective may be a bit skewed. I’m hoping he pulls out a win with HERCULES: THE LEGEND BEGINS (formerly HERCULES 3D) and although many will see it as a longshot (and they could be right), it would be nice to see this sail to success. However, there’s another competing sword-and-sandal pic opening in the same month, so prepare yourself for HERCULES: THE LEGEND BEGINS vs. 300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE.
HERCULES: THE LEGEND BEGINS is currently slated for release in March, 2014.
