Vertical Entertainment is bringing director Drew Mylrea’s post-apocalyptic thriller Last Survivors to theatres and VOD this Friday, February 4th. In anticipation of this release, our own Lance Vlcek had the chance to sit down for an interview with stars Drew Van Acker (Pretty Little Liars), Alicia Silverstone (Clueless), and Stephen Moyer (True Blood) – and now you can watch their conversation in the video embedded above!
Josh Janowicz wrote the screenplay for Last Survivors, which he developed with Akaash Yadav, Michael Jefferson, and producer Sunil Perkash. The story centers on
Troy, who has raised his now grown son, Jake, in a wooded utopia thousands of miles away from the decayed cities. When Troy is severely wounded, Jake is forced to travel to the outside world to find life-saving medicine. While he’s ordered to kill any humans he encounters, Jake defies his father by engaging in a forbidden relationship with a mysterious woman, Henrietta. As Jake continues this dangerous affair, Troy will do anything to get rid of Henrietta and protect the perfect world he created for himself and his son.

In addition to starring in the film, Van Acker also serves as an executive producer alongside Wes Hull, David Lugo, Daniel Brandt, and Michael Baker.
Perkash released a statement to Deadline saying that Last Survivors was filmed in the “frigid but beautiful Montana mountains” in December 2020. He described the film as “chilling and heartbreaking”, and promised that audiences will be both terrified and moved by it. Vertical’s Peter Jarowey added that it has “phenomenal storytelling and emotionally captivating scenes”.
