And that’s not all. Above and below we’ve also got three new stills for LAST HOUSE, some pretty cool stills at that. I’m digging the group shot below. Unfortunately I can’t say the same about the trailer.
It’s no secret that I’m a huge Wes Craven fan, but his LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT isn’t exactly his favorite film of mine. I think the movie is smart and definitely a worthy accomplishment for Craven, but it just doesn’t sit well with me… though that was the point. This remake? It looks like Hollywood smothered Craven’s original, added a bunch of ‘in-your-face’ violence and called it a day.
What I want to know is why Craven keeps backing remakes of his films? NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET excluded of course. I’m really hoping 25/8 brings Craven back to form. As for this LAST HOUSE remake, it comes from director Dennis Iliadis with a script by Adam Alleca and Carl Ellsworth. The film stars Sara Paxton, Monica Potter, Garret Dillahunt, Martha MacIsaac, Tony Goldwyn, Riki Lindhome, Spencer Treat Clark, Aaron Paul, and Joshua Cox. It follows a group of convicts who terrorize a girl on her vacation then make the mistake of taking refuge at her parent’s house.
