Liam Hemsworth, Vince Vaughn to star in Clark Duke’s Arkansas

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

While Chris Hemsworth (THOR: RAGNAROK, CABIN IN THE WOODS) is off filming the UNTITLED MEN IN BLACK reboot with Tessa Thompson (ANNIHILATION, CREED 2), it would appear as if his brother, Liam Hemsworth, has landed a new project co-starring alongside Vince Vaughn (WEDDING CRASHERS, SWINGERS) for Clark Duke's upcoming directorial debut, ARKANSAS. In addition to helming the feature, Duke will also pen the script which Patrick Hibler, Jeff Rice, Martin Sprock, and Storyboard Media on board to produce.

In ARKANSAS, two low on the totem poll Dixie Mafia drug runners, Kyle (Hemsworth) and Swin (Duke), who live by the orders of a mysterious Arkansas-based drug kingpin, Frog (Vaughn), whom they've never met, find themselves with their backs against a wall after a deal goes terribly wrong.

Details related to ARKANSAS are real scarce at the moment, though we do know that the film is expected to begin filming in Alabama this week.

In recent times, Hemsworth completed his role as Blake for director Todd Strauss-Schulson's romantic comedy ISN'T IT ROMANTIC. The film also stars Priyanka Chopra (QUANTICO), Rebel Wilson (PITCH PERFECT, BRIDESMAIDS) and Betty Gilpin (GLOW) for the tale of when a young woman, disenchanted with love, mysteriously finds herself trapped inside a romantic comedy.

As for Vaughn, the COUPLE'S RETREAT actor just finished filming the biographical comedy drama FIGHTING WITH MY FAMILY for director Stephen Merchant. In the upcoming film, a former wrestler and his family make a living performing at small venues around the country while his kids dream of joining World Wrestling Entertainment. Vaughn will play Hutch in the feature, as he co-stars alongside Florence Pugh (THE FALLING, LADY MACBETH), Dwayne Johnson (JUMANJI: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE, RAMPAGE), Lena Heady (GAME OF THRONES, DREDD), Stephen Merchant (EXTRAS, LOGAN), and Nick Frost (SHAUN OF THE DEAD, ATTACK THE BLOCK).
