Lisey’s Story: Stephen King series premieres June 4th on Apple TV+

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Apple today revealed that Lisey’s Story, the highly-anticipated limited series based on the best-selling novel and adapted and written by author Stephen King himself, will make its global debut on Friday, June 4, 2021, exclusively on Apple TV+.

Someone cut the casting director for this project another check because they were clearly working overtime on this one. Lisey's Story is led by Academy Award-winner Julianne Moore and Academy Award-nominee Clive Owen. Other cast members include Joan Allen, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Dane DeHaan, Ron Cephas Jones, and Sung Kang. The eight-episode Apple Original series will premiere with the first two episodes, followed by new episodes every Friday.

Per Apple's official press release, Lisey's Story is a deeply personal, pensive thriller that follows Lisey Landon (played by Julianne Moore) two years after the death of her husband, famous novelist Scott Landon (played by Clive Owen). A series of unsettling events causes Lisey to face memories of her marriage to Scott that she has deliberately blocked out of her mind.

Would you like to hear the most exciting aspect of this news? The Master of Horror himself, Stephen King, personally wrote every episode. You don't get any more official than that.

Lisey's Story is directed by Pablo Larraín and hails from J. J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions and Warner Bros. Television. King, Moore, and Larraín executive produce alongside Abrams, Ben Stephenson, and Juan de Dios Larraín.

In addition to announcing the series' June 4 premiere, Apple also shared a gallery of first-look photos from the upcoming show:
