M. Night Shyamalan’s upcoming thriller casts Gael García Bernal!

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Deadline reports that M. Night Shyamalan's upcoming "weird and dark" thriller has added another cast member, the charming Mexican actor Gael García Bernal (Y TU MAMA TAMBIAN). He joins the previously cast Eliza Scanlen, Thomasin McKenzie, Aaron Pierre, Alex Wolff, Vicky Krieps, Abbey Lee, Nikki Amuka-Bird and Ken Leung.

No other details are known about Shyamalan's upcoming film, only that it is one of two untitled thrillers he is currently developing at Universal. This is coming off the duel success of SPLIT and GLASS – both part of the UNBREAKABLE universe – which helped re-invigorate his career (alongside the sleeper found footage hit THE VISIT) after some really bad misfires (including the live-action THE LAST AIRBENDER adaptation and the Jaden Smith vehicle AFTER EARTH).

Meanwhile, filming will begin once it's safe to start up productions again in the US, but it's nonetheless still slated to be released to theaters July 23rd, 2021.

So what do you guys think? Fans of Shyamalan? If so, how do you feel about this upcoming film? Either way, sound off below!
