This is my first time hearing about THE MACHINE GIRL, and I have to say, those Japanese people are crazies. But in a very, very good way.
Twitch scored the new trailer for THE MACHINE GIRL and it’s a gruesome, gory, ninja-rific minute and a half. I’m sure like most younger guys, I dug ninjas a lot when I was a youngin, and this flick looks like it has a lot of ninja fun in it, so I’m down for that. Not only does it involve ninjas, but it has hot asian chicks in skirts, fountains of blood, ninja stars, get this – a flying guillotine, flesh piercing machine guns… you get the picture?
You can scope out the trailer below. I’d definately check this one out if I got the chance. It’s got behind the scenes crew from Japanese films like DEATH TRANCE and MEATBALL MACHINE. It’s written and directed by Noboru Igushi and stars Asami, Demo Tanaka, Minase Yashiro, and Ryôsuke Kawamura. Twitch explains the plot as: a Japanese schoolgirl seeking revenge against the gang that tortured her brother to death and cost her her own arm. But no worries … that arm has now been replaced by a high powered machine gun.
Of course it’s got a certain ‘EVIL DEAD 2’ feel, with the over-the-top gore and machine gun/chainsaw for an arm. But EVIL DEAD 2 rocked hard, so who’re we to nitpick? As for a release date, all I could find was that it’ll be released in 2008 in Japan, no word on the US. Knowing Hollywood though, this one would probably have a remake in the works in no time.
