What is Man of War about?
Directed by William Kaufman, whose credits include The Marine 4: Moving Target, Jarhead 3: The Siege, and Daylight’s End, Man of War has the following synopsis, which also provides some cast details:
During the initial invasion of the war in Ukraine, former Navy SEAL and retired CIA agent Michael Connor (LaMonica Garrett – 1883, The Terminal List, Lioness) receives a desperate video call: his niece Riley (Rosmary Yaneva), a humanitarian worker, has been taken during an attack on an orphanage in Kharkiv. Crossing a continent and plunging into a country at war, Connor races into the conflict with the help of an eccentric Ukrainian fixer, Dany (Andrew Howard – Limitless, Inception, The Odyssey), while his former CIA agent Charlie (Jason Patric – Rush, Narc, After Dark My Sweet) works from afar to keep the mission alive.
Along the way, Connor joins forces with a hardened team of private contractors led by Bunny (Linds Edwards – The Channel, Osiris) as they battle artillery fire, drone strikes, and shattered cities in pursuit of the ruthless mercenary commander Skorzeny Koniev (Daniel Bernhardt –Atomic Blonde, Extraction, Nobody).
As the siege intensifies and the odds become impossible, Connor leads a final assault on the fortress where Riley is being held. Amid the chaos of a counter-offensive and the collapse of a city at war, Connor must confront Koniev and make one last attempt to fulfill the only promise that matters: to bring Riley home.
Kaufman wrote the screenplay with executive producer Paul Reichelt.
Man of War is produced by Andrew Lewis, Isaac Lewis, Stanimir Stamatov and Yanko Ushatov, with Elias Axume executive producing alongside Reichelt and Carly Marie Jones serving as associate producer.
