Matthew Fox signs up for zombie killing in World War Z

He may be one of the most controversial characters in one of the most controversial shows in history when he played the “love him or hate him” Jack Shepard on Lost, but Matthew Fox’s film career hasn’t quite picked up yet, as he’s been limited to supporting roles in SPEED RACER, VANTAGE POINT and that’s just about it.

But Bloody Disgusting is reporting that their trusted sources tell them that he’s about to join a higher profile project, in the form of WORLD WAR Z where he will play “Parajumper.” As I haven’t read the book, I don’t know how big a role that is, but at least he gets to be alongside Brad Pitt presumably.

In addition to Pitt playing a researcher for the UN Post War Comission, the film’s cast includes The Killing’s Mireille Enos and Rubicon’s James Badge Dale.

I believe Dale is actually the star of the show, playing a soldier who tries to alert authorities of the pending zombie threat. Interesting to have him lead with more known actors like Pitt or Fox lying around. Needless to say, I think most of us are greatly looking forward to this film.

Update: An additional report from Deadline says that Ed Harris is also in talks for the film.
