Jason Mewes, Ezra Buzzington, and Felissa Rose inhabit The Last House

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Best known for his work in comedies, Jason Mewes has dabbled in the horror genre here and there over the years, including roles in RSVP, DEVIL'S TOWER, and a solid vampire movie called BITTEN. His latest foray into the genre is THE LAST HOUSE, which finds him crossing paths with genre icon Felissa Rose (SLEEPAWAY CAMP) and going up against prolific character actor Ezra Buzzington (THE HILLS HAVE EYES remake).

Directed by Sean Cain from a screenplay by Wes Laurie, THE LAST HOUSE tells the following story:

After his escort girlfriend is kidnapped by a trio of escaped mental patients, a young man attempts to find her before their sadistic game plan can be realized.

If this project sounds familiar to longtime readers, that's because it has been in the works for quite a while. It was initially casting up under the title BREATH OF HATE in 2009, and back in 2012, when the movie was having trouble finding a distributor, we featured the first ten minutes as a Cool Horror Video. (That video is no longer available.)

Thankfully, THE LAST HOUSE has since landed a distributor, Wild Eye Releasing, and the company has it scheduled for a November 24th DVD and VOD release. In less than two weeks, it will finally be out in the world.

The trailer can be seen below, and it appears that Buzzington has delivered an extremely creepy performance that I really can't wait to see more of.
