Angela Bettis

A genre regular with roles in films like Rob Zombie's HALLOWEEN II and the Christmas horror film ALL THE CREATURES WERE STIRRING, actress Brea Grant made her feature directorial debut with 2013's BEST FRIENDS FOREVER. Now she's in production on her second feature, and this time she has teamed up with producer / SCREAM franchise star David Arquette to craft a horror comedy called 12 HOUR SHIFT.

Wrestling legend Mick Foley and Angela Bettis (pictured above) – a genre icon herself, first catching my attention in Lucky McKee's MAY – star in the film.

Written and directed by Grant, 12 HOUR SHIFT follows

a group of nurses stealing organs and selling them on the black market.

Also in the cast with Foley and Bettis are Chloe Farnworth, Kit Williamson, Tara Perry and Nikea Gamby-Turner.

Arquette is producing 12 HOUR SHIFT with his wife Christina McLarty, as well as Jordan Wayne Long and Matt Glass of HCT Media.

12 HOUR SHIFT is filming in Jonesboro, Arkansas, and benefiting from a tax credit for filming there. The state offers a 20% incentive on goods and services, and another 10% for Arkansas workforce. Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson had this to say about the push to get more films to shoot in the state:

We’re excited to see the continued growth of the film industry in Arkansas, along with the first-rate production houses that have taken notice and the caliber of projects being created here. Thanks to our legislature’s understanding and support of the film industry’s contributions to the quality of life and economic development, we’re able to help bring productions to Arkansas with targeted incentives while highlighting the artistic cast and crew available in our beautiful state. We can’t wait to see how Arkansans’ talents are showcased in 12 HOUR SHIFT, the production currently filming in and around Jonesboro and Northeast Arkansas."

With Grant and Arquette behind the scenes and Foley and Bettis in front of the camera, 12 HOUR SHIFT already has me as a guaranteed viewer.
