Monster Hunter rated PG-13 for creature action & violence

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

EVENT HORIZON writer/director Paul W.S. Anderson's upcoming live-action feature based on the MONSTER HUNTER video game franchise sports a killer cast including Milla Jovovich, Tony Jaa, Ron Perlman, Diego Boneta, Josh Helman, Tip "T.I." Harris, and Meagan Good. And today we have word that the movie has been rated PG-13 for "sequences of creature action and violence throughout."

While I would have hoped for a hard R-rating, whatever, this works.

Jovovich stars as Captain Natalie Artemis, a member of a United Nations military team and she's joined by Tony Jaa as a character known only as "The Hunter" and is described as "one of many skilled warriors that fight giant monsters." The film is being produced by Anderson, Dennis Berardi, Jeremy Bolt, and Ken Kamins along with Impact Pictures and Constantin Film. There's isn't currently a release date for the film, but we'll keep you guys up-to-date during post-production and make sure to pass along word as we hear it.
