Montreal Horrorfest second wave of feature films; Dead Shadows has Canadian premiere!

Next month the Montreal ComicCon Horror Fest will be going down from September 13th to the 15th and will be jam-packed with all kind of genre goodness. Earlier this month we hit you with the first wave of announced films – a very cool, unique batch that include CANNIBAL DINNER, CHASTITY BITES and IN THE HOUSE OF FLIES – and today we have the second wave of feature programming to share with you, which includes the Canadian premiere of David Cholewa's DEAD SHADOWS, which stars our very own John 'The Arrow' Fallon who will be attending the Fest to introduce the film and answer fans questions! Read on for the second wave of programming goodness!

DEAD SHADOWS

As the night falls, Chris discovers that people are starting to act strange – and this seems to somehow be connected to the comet. They are becoming disoriented and violent and it doesn’t take long before they begin to mutate into something far beyond this world.
In a fight for survival, Chris tries to escape from his building with the help of a gun taunting tenant (John Fallon) – but will they make it out alive?

While writing the script, the actual screenwriter and producer of BELOW ZERO, Signe Olynyk, arranged to have herself physically locked in the meat freezer of an abandoned, remote slaughterhouse. That’s partly how this story developed. It was filmed at the same location.

She Wolf Rising is a horror throwback to a Fright Night style 80’s classic. It’s a fun ride that explores the dark side of underground filmmaking. Gina Skylar, the reigning queen of horror, portrayed by Tiffany Shepis, lures Jake Bubar (Tim Mandala) into the decadent world of illusions and myths. Robert Lonzo (J. Edmund Fond) is Gina’s mentor and producer. Someone has stolen Lonzo’s  footage from his latest movie and she needs Jake’s help to recover it. Gina believes that this movie could catapult her out of the  world of “B” movies and into mainstream cinema. Jake struggles with his own personal demons but in the end cannot resist Gina’s vulnerability and beauty.  His  beliefs are challenged when he discovers Gina’s true nature, that “her heart becomes savage.”
