Back in July we got our first taste of what is to be this year’s Sitges Film Festival when we learned what the first entries into the festival were going to be. Then earlier this month we learned of a few more joining the slate including MELANCHOLIA and CONTAGION. Well folks considering the festival is just a couple weeks away I’d say it’s about time we learn what the final line-up is going to be, don’t you?
And that’s exactly what we’ve got for you guys today! Sitges finalized their schedule with the announcements of the In-Competition Fantàstic Selection, Fantàstic Panorama Section, Special Screenings and the Closing Film. So what are they? Check it:
In-Competition Fantàstic Selection: Mike Cahill’s ANOTHER EARTH, Xavier Gens’ THE DIVIDE, Tim Fehlbaum’s HELL, Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury’s LIVIDE, Juan Martínez Moreno’s LOBOS DE ARGA, Kevin Smith’s RED STATE, Dick Maas’ SAINT and Lucky Mckee’s THE WOMAN.
Fantàstic Panaorama Section: Gonzalo López-Gallego’s APOLLO 18, Joseph Kahn’s DETENTION, Nacho Vigalondo’s EXTRATERRESTRE, Ti West’s THE INNKEEPERS, Marjane Satrapi and Vincent Paronnaud’s POULER AUX PRUNES, Francis Ford Coppola’s TWIXT and Eduardo Chapero-Jackson’s VERBO.
Special Screenings: Juan Carlos Fresnadillo’s INTRUDERS, Dominik Moll’s EL MONJE, Hiroya Oku’s GANTZ AND GANTZ: PERFECT ANSWER and Michel Hazanavicius’ THE ARTIST.
Closing Film: Matthijs van Heijningen Jr.’s THE THING.
So there you have it folks! The Sitges Film Festival is set to kick off on October 6th in Spain and will last right on through until October 16th.
I wonder if THING star Mary Elizabeth Winstead will be there
