We haven’t been dropping much news on SOLOMON KANE. It’s been a couple months since I showed you all the poster for the flick. Well finally some casting news is rolling in via Ropes of Silicon.
Apparently Max von Sydow, Pete Postlethwaite, Rachel Hurd-Wood (below), Alice Krige, and Mackenzie Crook have all joined the cast alongside James Purefoy. Relative unknowns aside from Purefoy and Crook, but if the flick looks like it’s going to be fun, I’ll give it a shot. No telling if it will be or not though. I’ve said it from day one and I still say it, this one feels a lot like VAN HELSING, but once we see some stills and a trailer I’ll give it a shot.
SOLOMON KANE is the first of a trilogy and is based off the stories of Robert E. Howard. KANE is a 16th century soldier who learns that his brutal and cruel actions have damned him but is determined to redeem himself by living peaceably. But he finds himself dragged out of retirement for a fight against evil. Michael J. Bassett is writing and directing.
