Back in February I told you about NINJA ASSASSIN. Ninjas are pretty badass…. Assassins are awesome… It’s a win-win situation.
Well last time I told you how South Korean pop star Jung ‘Rain’ Ji-hoon was the first name to join the cast and that James McTeigue (V FOR VENDETTA) will be directing.
Well The Hollywood Reporter has a slew of updates, including three more names joining the cast and our first taste of the plot!
The names joining the flick are Rick Yune (above), Naomie Harris (below), and Ben Miles. Here’s how the synopsis reads:
A man (Rain), brought up in an orphanage functioning as a ninja farm, turns his back on his tradition to make his way in the modern world, which brings him into conflict with a ninja (Yune) from the clan.
Harris is set to play the female lead. Yune spoke a bit about his character:
“Not to give too much away, (but) my character stays within what he was brought up with, and they go up against each other. I’m not a heavy. The characters are ninjas, they are assassins, and there’s this mix of morality the Wachowskis are exploring.”
This one is quickly scoring my interest. Then again I’m a sucker for ninja assassins. Dark Castles’ Joel Silver, Grant Hill, and Larry and Andy Wachowski are producing.
