Animated Mortal Kombat with voices of McHale, Carpenter to be released soon

Production recently wrapped on a new live action MORTAL KOMBAT film that was produced by James Wan. The movie is set to reach theatres on January 15, 2021, but there's another MORTAL KOMBAT feature coming our way that will be available to watch much sooner.

Warner Bros. Animation has announced that they'll be releasing the animated film MORTAL KOMBAT LEGENDS: SCORPION'S REVENGE sometime in the first half of 2020.

Directed by Ethan Spaulding and written by Jeremy Adams, SCORPION'S REVENGE will feature the vocal talents of Joel McHale as Johnny Cage, Jennifer Carpenter as Sonya Blade, Jordan Rodrigues as Lui Kang, Patrick Seitz as Scorpion and Hanzo Hasashi, Steve Blum as Sub-Zero, Artt Butler as Shang Tsung, Darin De Paul as Quan Chi, Robin Atkin Downes as Kano, David B. Mitchell as Raiden, Ike Amadi as Jax Briggs, Kevin Michael Richardson as Goro, Grey Griffin as Kitana and Satoshi Hasashi, and Fred Tatasciore as Demon Torturer.

I'm assuming "Demon Torturer" is a generic credit for a character that happens to be a demon who tortures people, but if Demon Torturer is their birthname that's pretty badass.

MORTAL KOMBAT LEGENDS: SCORPION'S REVENGE is being produced by Rick Morales, with Jim Krieg co-producing and Sam Register executive producing. Mortal Kombat video game co-creator Ed Boon is on board as creative consultant.

Warner Bros. Animation didn't provide a plot synopsis for SCORPION'S REVENGE, but they did share the film's logo.
