13 Hours featurette goes behind the scenes with the soldiers who lived it

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Michael Bay's latest film, 13 HOURS, follows the true story of the attack on the U.S. Special Mission Compound and nearby CIA Annex in Benghazi on the 11th anniversary of Sept. 11, after which a team of six American security operators attempted to repel the attackers and save as many lives as they could. A new featurette has hit that shows us Kris “Tanto” Paronto, John “Tig” Tiegen, and Mark “Oz” Geist on-set with director Michael Bay to give some pointers to the actors portraying them. Definitely worth a look!

Michael Bay's history with the US military runs deep and compared with his recent TRANSFORMERS fare, this is a story that's infinitely more engaging. I'm not one to ask that all movies based on true stories follow the actual events to a T, but it's good to know that some of the men who lived the experience were there to offer up their expertise.

13 HOURS: THE SECRET SOLDIERS OF BENGHAZI will open in theaters on January 15, 2016.
