Adrien Brody, Josh Lucas and Timothy Olyphant all testing for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

It’s time to find someone for the role of ABE LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER.

The secret vampire slaying life of Lincoln was written in the novel by Seth Grahame-Smith. Twentieth Century Fox immediately took the chance to turn the book into a film. Timur Bekmambetov (WANTED) is directing a scripted from Grahame-Smith. The studio set a release date of June 22, 2012 and has been focused on casting since November.

So who will be testing for the role of a young Lincoln? Benjamin Walker (FLAGS OF OUR FATHERS), James D’Arcy (MASTER & COMMANDER), Adrien Brody, Oliver Jackson-Cohen (GOING THE DISTANCE), Josh Lucas, and Timothy Olyphant are all going to get their shot at the role. As you can see there’s a mix of semi-knowns and well knowns here.

The project was wanted by several major studios. Sony, Fox, Paramount, Universal and Summit all went head to head in a long auction until a winner emerged. Fox won and even got creative in their attempts to bag the film, “when the filmmakers came onto the lot, the studio had bloody axes and bloody footprints strewn about, and arranged for a bugle player in a Confederate uniform playing “Taps” to accompany them to the meeting with studio executives.”

Synopsis:

“A 3D re-imagining of Lincoln’s life that depicts the 16th president as an axe-throwing, highly accomplished killer of vampires, an obsession of his since those bloodsuckers supposedly took the life of his mother.”
