BBC One announces release date for the new season of Sherlock

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

They say January is the most depressing month of the year. Who says? I don’t know, but they do. The Christmas debt, the bleak weather, and the dawn of yet another year without commercial jet packs add up to a very depressing time of the year. But the folks across the pond are here to help, and they’re wasting no time in doing so, planning to ring in the New Year with exactly what we’re all asking for: The fourth season of SHERLOCK. Break out the bubbly, and ignore the depression that normally comes out of you having no one to kiss at midnight!

Via Twitter BBC One released a teaser for the show’s new season and release date that proves the Brits are the masters of fine subtlety. Have a peek below!

Fans have been waiting years for the new season of the show (season three came out in 2014, while a special aired earlier this year), but fans have been able to get their doses of Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman basically anywhere else they look. The first episode of the new season will be titled The Six Thatchers, while the second will be called The Lying Detective (Birth.Movies.Death.). Not everyone has access to the BBC, but seeing as how the internet makes it easy to get things I’m sure many die-hard fans won’t have to wait too long. The game is afoot…in two months!

Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman return to solving mysteries January 1, 2017, while you can catch the former in his new indie movie DOCTOR STRANGE on November 4.
