Some Bond fans were bummed to see Christoph Waltz will star as Franz Oberhauser in SPECTRE, since the rumor was he would be playing iconic Bond villain Ernst Stavro Blofeld. But even if Waltz isn't playing Blofeld, many have assumed his Oberhauser will be the head of SPECTRE in the Sam Mendes film.

But when Collider asked the actor if his character is the boss of SPECTRE, Waltz responded with "No. No. It’s more interesting than that.”

Now, maybe Oberhauser is an alias for Blofeld, and Sony is pulling a "John Harrison" with the Bond villain, however many would argue keeping the character's real identity a secret didn't really help STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS, and I doubt Sony wants that kind of mess on their hands. But if Christoph Waltz isn't playing the head of SPECTRE, then who is, and what will Waltz's character be up to in the film? Just speculating here, but with Jesper Christensen returning as Mr. White, maybe Oberhauser is somehow involved with Quantum, and Andrew Scott is playing the SPECTRE boss.

The first SPECTRE set video has also surfaced online, featuring Daniel Craig and Rory Kinnear on a speedboat, which you can check out below.

SPECTRE will be in theaters November 6, 2015.
