Chris Rock’s new comedy special gets a premiere date on Netflix

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

This year's Valentine's Day just got a whole lot sweeter, as Netlfix has announced that Chris Rock's latest stand-up special, TAMBORINE, will make its debut on the popular streamer on February 14th.

While working the crowd for his first stand-up routine in ten years, Rock will unleash his razor-sharp observational wit to riff on a wide array of modern-day issues, hopefully leaving the crowd both educated and clutching at their sides with laughter. The special was filmed at New York's Brooklyn Academy of Music and was directed by comedian, singer-songwriter Bo Burnham.

CHRIS ROCK: TAMBORINE is the first of two comedy specials from Rock to be hosted at Netflix, after the streamer won a tremendous bidding war for the right to air the material. According to sources, Netflix paid something to the tune of $40 million for the opportunity, which would set a record for comedy-realated specials.

Chris Rock himself announced the special premiere date via his personal Instagram account earlier today:
