Ready for a Christmas and holiday miracle? In 2020 I will take any good news I can get and this is something that definitely puts a smile on my face. The third season of Cobra Kai was set to launch on January 8, 2021, but Netflix knows the demand is high so the highly anticipated season three launch will take place a week early on January 1, 2021. I'd call that a pretty legit way to kick off the new year.

Cobra Kai takes place over 30 years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament with the continuation of the inescapable conflict between Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka). The third season finds everyone reeling in the aftermath of the violent high school brawl between their dojos, which has left Miguel in a precarious condition. While Daniel searches for answers in his past and Johnny seeks redemption, Kreese further manipulates his vulnerable students with his own vision of dominance. The soul of the Valley is at stake, and the fate of every student and sensei hangs in the balance. The series also stars Courtney Henggeler, Xolo Maridueña, Tanner Buchanan, Mary Mouser, Jacob Bertrand, Gianni Decenzo, Vanessa Rubio, Peyton List, and Martin Kove

Netflix has done a great job promoting Cobra Kai since it arrived on its platform back in August. The first two seasons were housed on YouTube when they were launching scripted programming and the show was a hit on that service but it reached new heights when more eyes could discover it on Netflix. It also helps that Cobra Kai is critically acclaimed with a current Rotten Tomatoes score of 100% and old-school fans love the nostalgia of reuniting with Ralph Macchio and William Zabka (Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence, respectively). Newcomers are said to be enjoying the younger storyline so this is really the perfect mix of the old with new. Cobra Kai episodes are also short and very easy to binge so it's pretty much a breeze to get through the show before season three launches on the first of January if you still need time to catch up. By the time we're finished with season three I'm sure we'll be eagerly anticipating the fourth season, which has already been given the go-ahead from Netflix

Will you be watching season three of Cobra Kai? Catch it a week early on January 1, 2021, on Netflix!
