With 2014 coming to a close, excitement is starting to ramp up for the cinematic delights that are in store for us in 2015. STAR WARS, JURASSIC WORLD, TERMINATOR: GENISYS (I kid, I kid) are just a few of the movies audiences are craving and one of the first to reach us will be Joss Whedon's AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON. Marvel has now fashioned a legitimate website that you can check out by clicking on the Avengers logo below.

There's not much in the way of features as of now, aside from some temp music and the ability to download the background logo, but I imagine that'll change in due time. Hey Marvel, if you were to upload some high-res images of that kickin' Comic Con art with all of the characters, that would be pretty cool!

For you film composer fans, James Horner is a name synonymous with some of James Cameron's most recognized work (ALIENS, TITANIC, AVATAR). The composer took part in scoring Marc Webb's THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN but was replaced by Hans Zimmer for the second installment. The reasoning for this? Well, it seems as though that was one of the many choices Sony Pictures decided to make for Mr. Webb, although from the sound of it, Horner wasn't exactly itching to work on the second film anyway. There's a lengthy interview with the composer that you can read here, but I've included his input on Spidey 2 below.

James Horner on why he didn't take part in THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2:

He was very inexperienced and he and I had a very good relationship and the producers had their own opinion. And they didn't want his input. And then Sony had their own, they just wanted action. To me, the whole thing about doing the movie was I liked the director and there was a chance to write something for the two lead characters and then she dies in the next movie. But the next movie ended up being so terrible, I didn't want to do it. It was just dreadful.

There's not many that will argue with James Horner's synopsis of the second film, so here's hoping Sony puts a little more faith in the writing and directing team they hire, eh? At the very least, the scathing reviews and lack of income due to THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 are forcing them to rethink their strategy, which is a good thing! The elements are there for a great Spider-man film, and I think we're due for one!
