Eric Bana contends with mass posession in trailer for Deliver Us From Evil

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

It’s easy for films not featuring web-slinging superheroes or adamantium claws to get lost in the shuffle of the bustling summer movie season, but Machinima has a nifty little exclusive trailer to remind us that there are other options.  Namely those featuring Eric Bana and some ridiculously creepy people.  If you’re the kind of sick, twisted person who likes to get their scare on before lunch, that means we’re friends, and that you need to check out this trailer.

Prepare to have stuffed owls ruined for you:

THE EXORCIST is one of the greatest horror films of all time, and cinema has been attacking the posession angle any which way they can.  Each time I see a trailer featuring it, I usually roll my eyes and punch myself in the face.  What interests me about DELIVER US FROM EVIL, however, is that they’re tackling posession on a massive scale.  The sneak peak also did a great job at bringing on that creep factor.  Director Scott Derrickson delivered that in spades with his previous film, SINISTER, so I’m completely on board for his latest picture.  With Eric Bana lending some weight to the proceedings, my only hope is that he Hulks out on that stuffed owl.  Seriously, I’m over that thing.

DELIVER US FROM EVIL, starring Eric Bana, Edgar Ramirez, Olivia Munn, Sean Harris, and Joel McHale (didn’t see that coming), will be delivered to theaters on July 2, 2014.

I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It’s the only way to be sure.
