First photos of Andre 3000 as Jimi Hendrix hit the Internet

JoBloJoBlo

Just a couple of weeks ago we posted news that Andre Benjamin of Outkast would be starring in a biopic about Jimi Hendrix. Today, we have the first photos of him in character as the rock and roll legend in ALL IS BY MY SIDE.

While the resemblance is uncanny, it is still unknown whether or not Benjamin will sing or lip sync to the classic Hendrix songs. That will also depend on whether or not the production will have the rights to any of the Hendrix music. The late guitarist’s estate has been notoriously difficult when it comes to licensing. A movie about a musician that does not have any of the music that made them famous would be a pretty lackluster film.

ALL IS BY MY SIDE will focus on Hendrix’s career in London beginning in 1966 as he worked on his classic debut, Are You Experienced?

What do you think of Andre 3000 in character as Hendrix? Does it work for you or fall short?
