Hunnam’s Vlad

Which do you want first, the good news or the bad news?

The good news is that two of the coolest cats in Hollywood, Brad Pitt and Charlie Hunnam are teaming up for a project. Pitt is producing a script by Hunnam (he writes?), that chronicles a legendary and mysterious figure in history.

The bad news? It’s about more f*cking vampires.

VLAD is the re-worked origin story of Dracula, known to history as Vlad the Impaler, and the Hunnam script paints him as a young prince who roams around Europe bedding hot chicks and then sucking them dry. I think it’s safe to assume Hunnam is thinking of himself for the title role.

The film is going to be directed by music video helmer Anthony Mandler, who has done videos for Rihanna, The Killers and Eminem, and his video reel for the project allegedly wowed execs into forking over cash as they thought it had echoes of 300 in it.

Vampire-ness aside, I’m all aboard for anything Charlie Hunnam is in, and if you truly are tossing in a bit of 300’s visceral style and name-drop Brad Pitt to boot, this could be something I could get behind.
