Jessie Eisenberg Vivarium, When You Finish Saving the World

Fan favorite Lex Luthor and ZOMBIELAND series actor Jesse Eisenberg is preparing to go from being in front of the camera to behind one, as he prepares to make his directorial debut with a new comedic drama titled WHEN YOU FINISH SAVING THE WORLD. In addition to directing, Eisenberg will also write the project, which has Emma Stone producing with SNL writer-director Dave McCary. Set to star in the feature are Julianne Moore and STRANGER THINGS alum Finn Wolfhard. Moore will also produce alongside Stone and McCary.

Details related to the plot of the film are being kept under wraps at this time, though it's been said that the feature will have a slightly different focus than the audiobook, which has been scripted by and stars Eisenberg. Set over three decades, the six-part audio show will follow three members of a family: Nathan, a father learning to connect with his newborn son; Rachel, a young college student seeking to find her place in a relationship and in life; and Ziggy, a teenager hoping to figure out where he came from, and where he’s headed. Reports indicate that Wolfhard will also contribute to the audiobook version, with Kaitlyn Dever currently in talks to join the cast.

In addition to recently returning to Sony's Zombieland film series for director Ruben Fleischer's ZOMBIELAND: DOUBLE TAP, Eisenberg starred alongside Imogen Poots as Tom for Morcan Finnegan's VIVARIUM. In the film, a young couple (played by Poots and Eisenberg) while looking for the perfect home find themselves trapped in a mysterious labyrinth-like neighborhood of identical houses. Outside of the sci-fi spectrum, Eisenberg recently led director Jonathan Jakubowicz's RESISTANCE, which tells the story of a group of Jewish Boy Scouts who worked with the French Resistance to save the lives of ten thousand orphans during World War II.

We'll be sure to bring you more details as this mystrerious project develops. For now, VIVARIUM is available now on most VOD services, with physical release on Blu-ray and DVD planned for May 12.
