Kal-el to visit Washington DC in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

It looks like more and more sources are coming forward regarding new scenes being shot for BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE supporting the rumors that the film will deal directly with the fallout of the closing events of MAN OF STEEL. Specifically, it looks like Superman himself is being called to task for General Zod’s actions in that film and the destruction of Metropolis.

Batman News shared some set photos from the Detroit set of BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE featuring taxi cabs, trucks, and buses with Washington DC related company names. Their sources also say that recently shot scenes in the Michigan city were dressed up to look like the nation’s capital for a major action scene in the film.

Without giving too much away… it involves Superman and the United States Capitol building in Washington D.C. (pictured above). Superman will have to answer for what happened at the end of Man of Steel. Half the public blames him for all the death and destruction. If it wasn’t for Superman being there, General Zod would have never come to Earth.

How the scene turns into an action scene is unknown, but it could signal another movie with devastating effects on landmarks like the Capitol or the White House. It also seems vaguely reminiscent of IRON MAN 2 where Tony Stark was brought before a subcommittee that wanted his armor for military purposes. It will be interesting to see just how the political landscape of this fictional world ties in with the other characters like Bruce Wayne and Lex Luthor.

BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE opens on March 25, 2016.
