New clip from Jason Bateman’s Bad Words has a serious chat about nipples

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

One of the comedies I'm most looking forward to this year is Jason Bateman's BAD WORDS. Bateman has "risen through the ranks" to become one of the most reliable comedic talents working today, be it in classic shows like Arrested Development or films like HORRIBLE BOSSES. He's got his own neurotic shtick that works perfectly as the everyman with attitude and makes him both likeable and dubious at the same time. For BAD WORDS, which is also his directorial debut, Bateman seems to be more of the latter, which is a good change of pace for the actor and one that will yield some solid laugh-out-loud moments at the theater.

"Not all girls have nipples":

Here's the synopsis:

Jason Bateman makes his directorial debut with the subversive comedy, BAD WORDS. Bateman stars as Guy Trilby, a 40-year old who finds a loophole in the rules of the National Quill Spelling Bee and decides to cause trouble by hijacking the competition.  Contest officials, outraged parents, and overly ambitious 8th graders are no match for Guy, as he ruthlessly crushes their dreams of victory and fame.

In addition to the clip, we've also got some new pics to share, which you can check out below, featuring co-stars Kathryn Hahn, Allison Janney, Rachael Harris, Ben Falcone, Rachael Harris, Philip Baker Hall, and Judith Hoag (April O'Neill!). The film premiered at TIFF (our review here) to mostly rave reviews, which only further drives my excitement for a good comedy. Looking forward to the laughs.

BAD WORDS starts spelling it out in limited theaters on March 14, 2014 and everywhere else on March 28, 2014.
