With only three months to go until the release of JUMANJI: THE NEXT LEVEL, you can bet that Sony won't be monkeying around when it comes to rolling out promotional materials for the highly-anticipated sequel to their 2017 box office smash.

Case in point, Sony unleashed a new poster for the upcoming adventure's IMAX release which finds the film's stars surrounded by a mess of monkeys of the Mandrill variety. Hailing from the Old West monkey family, most Mandrills occupy tropical rainforests where they live in large groups. They're considered to be the world's largest monkeys and can become quite territorial if their sanctuary is disturbed.

You can get yourself a gander at the new poster below:

Here's the synopsis:

In Jumanji: The Next Level, the gang is back but the game has changed. As they return to Jumanji to rescue one of their own, they discover that nothing is as they expect. The players will have to brave parts unknown and unexplored, from the arid deserts to the snowy mountains, in order to escape the world's most dangerous game.

Assembling the same crew from the previous film, JUMANJI: THE NEXT LEVEL sees Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Karen Gillan and Nick Jonas reprising their respective roles, with the real-world cast of Ser'Darius Blain, Madison Iseman, Morgan Turner and Alex Wolff also returning. Meanwhile, newcomers Danny DeVito, Danny Glover and Awkwafina will also be joining the fray. This time out, we'll see the actors in-game characters switched up a bit. In other words, we'll find DeVito transferring into Johnson’s Smolder Bravestone while Glover is set to merge into Hart’s "Mouse" Finbar. Oh boy, this sounds even more outrageous than the original, doesn't it? Here's hoping that the new formula is just as funny as the last.

JUMANJI: THE NEXT LEVEL hits theaters December 13.
