Paramount Pictures to flip the ignition on early screenings of Bumblebee

Any mechanic worth their salt will tell you that it's a good idea to let your vehicle warm up a bit before taking it out onto the open road. Today, Paramount Pictures has announced that on Saturday, December 8th, fans of the Transformers franchise will have their chance to test drive director Travis Knight's BUMBLEBEE in select theaters throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Those who decide to ride shotgun on this opportunity will get to see the film on the big screen nearly two weeks before it opens in theaters on December 21st. In addition to the special screening, early access ticket holders will also be provided with bonus content related to the latest movie in the Transformers franchise, including a Transformers: Tiny Turbo Changers Movie Toy from Hasbro and more. Screenings will start their engines at 7:00 pm sharp at all participating locations.

Here's the official synopsis for BUMBLEBEE:

The film takes place in the year 1987, where, on the run, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld), on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken. When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns this is no ordinary, yellow VW bug. In addition to Steinfeld, the film stars John Cena, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., John Ortiz, Jason Drucker, Pamela Adlon, and Stephen Schneider.

Helming the newest live-action adventure in the Transformers franchise is Laika Studios alum and KUBO AND THE TWO STRINGS director Travis Knight. Written by Christina Hodson (SHUT IN, UNFORGETTABLE), Knight's BUMBLEBEE is expected to serve as a soft-reboot for the vehicular robot fantasy property, by welcoming fans both new and old to a different, more character-driven presentation of the popular toy property.

Tickets for the Early Access screenings of BUMBLEBEE go on sale Wednesday, November 21st at BumblebeeMovie.com, as well as at participating theater box offices and respective exhibitor sales.
