Smurf movie gets some major boobage

The key to success of any kids movie is to try and make it just as enjoyable for the adults who have to drag the kids to the movies as it is for the kids themselves. It’s worked wonders for Pixar and other recent entries like CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS and FANTASTIC MR. FOX. Now, perhaps upping the ante, the producers of THE SMURFS are following that maxim.

The kids film based on the 80s cartoon series has signed on curvaceous “Modern Family” star Sofia Vergara to join the cast. Vergara will play Odile, the wife to Neil Patrick Harris’ lead character, who is a powerful executive at a cosmetics company. I’m going to go out on a limb and say that when Harris’ guy finds the Smurfs, Odile tries to exploit them for her company. I’ll also guess that the Jayma Mays character will be a new romantic interest as the plot develops.

Vergara is not the first buxom actress to join THE SMURFS. It was previously announced that Katy Perry will voice Smurfette in the film (though sadly she won’t be seen on screen). So get ready pervy dads! Maybe THE SMURFS won’t be so bad after all…
