The Suicide Squad: Sylvester Stallone is King Shark

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Fresh off the all new The Suicide Squad trailer comes confirmation from James Gunn himself that the character everyone's talking about, King Shark, is being voiced by none other than the Italian Stallion himself, Sylvester Stallone. Sly gets pretty prominent billing on the new posters for the film, and certainly this casting makes sense. In fact, it's very much in the vein of Gunn hiring Vin Diesel to voice Groot and Bradley Cooper to voice Rocket Racoon in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies. Watching the trailer again, when King Shark says "num-num" and "hand" it does indeed sound like Sly.

Given what we saw in the trailer, King Shark seems to be taking advantage of the film's R-rating, right? Meanwhile, in Sly news, no word yet on whether or not he'll be showing up as Rocky in Creed III, but apparently his director's cut of Rocky IV is just about good to go, despite the sad news that Paulie's robot is no longer in the film.
