The Zombieland sequel will be a TV show

We may never see ZOMBIELAND 2 in theaters, due to scheduling constraints and higher actor salary demands, but the concept is going to live on in another format.

Fox is developing a half hour comedy show based on ZOMBIELAND, which, fun fact, was actually supposed to be a TV show when it was first concieved, according to the writers.

“We always thought [it should be a TV series]. If you watch the movie with that in mind, you will see some remnants of the television show. We have the ‘Zombie Kill of the Week,’ which was always intended to happen every week. The movie ends on a cliffhanger; it doesn’t have a real resolution.”

But now thanks to the sky high ratings of the premiere of The Walking Dead season two, zombies now apparently equal cash, and that’s enough to get Fox to move on the concept.

Would this actually be on Fox, or a sister network like FX? I would imagine due to the massive amounts of violence, it would have to be the latter, because otherwise I’m not sure how you sell gore-free zombie show to viewers.
