Tim Miller’s Terminator gets a new and dark title for its November release

Today we've learned that the upcoming Tim Miller-directed, James Cameron produced Terminator feature will henceforth be known as TERMINATOR: DARK FATE. Little else is known about the film at this time, though it's been confirmed that Terminator alums Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger will once again return to the franchise to execute their roles as Sarah Connor and The Terminator, respectively. Joining them for the sixth installment of the sci-fi action franchise are Mackenzie Davis as Grace, Brett Azar as the T-800, Natalia Reyes as Dani Ramos and Gabriel Luna as yet another Terminator, among others.

Helmed by Miller, TERMINATOR: DARK FATE will arrive courtesy of a screenplay written by Josh Friedman, David S. Goyer, Billy Ray and Justine Rhodes, which is based on a story crafted by Miller and David Ellison.

Despite being up against the Elizabeth Banks-directed reboot of CHARLIE'S ANGELS, the latest Terminator sequel has chosen to stand firm on its November 1 theatrical release date. It's a risky move to be certain, seeing as the action-adventure comedy starring Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, Ella Balinska as the film's central femme fatales is looking to appeal to the same demographic. It's true. If you need proof, you need look no further than films like ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL and CAPTAIN MARVEL, which despite baseless boycotts and review smears, found the majority of its audience in older males. If TERMINATOR: DARK FATE keeping the November 1 release tells us anything, it's that the studio is very confident in the film's ability to come out on top during its opening weekend.

So there you have it, folks. TERMINATOR: DARK FATE will go up against CHARLIE'S ANGELS on November 1, 2019.
