Uma with the gods

Long-legged former pissed off warrior bride Uma Thurman has, along with Sean Bean, Pierce Brosnan, Kevin McKidd and Melina Kanakaredes, joined the cast of the fantasy adventure PERCY JACKSON. Based on Rick Riordan’s children’s book “The Lightning Thief”, the story centers on the titular kid who, as the half-human son of the Greek god of the sea, Poseidon, embarks on a quest to prevent a war among the gods. As the Greek gods feature heavily in the story, each of the above actors mentioned will be playing a god – Thurman as Medusa, Brosnan as Chiron, Bean as Zeus, McKidd as Poseidon and Kanakaredes as Athena. The roles of Aries, Hades and Persephone are yet to be cast. Chris Columbus is currently directing this bad boy in Vancouver for a release February next year. And since the book is the first of five, the studio is naturally thinking, kaching! AKA franchise.
