MPI Gnaws

Word coming from Variety today has MPI Media Group scoring US rights to GNAW.

GNAW is the vicious British horror flick about six friends that take a holiday in the heart of the English countryside which turns into a culinary nightmare when they discover that their hosts are a sadistic family of cannibals, set on turning their guests into their next meal!

While not completely original I’d be willing to give it a shot! Where else are you going to find the tagline “It’s nice to have your friends for dinner.” That’s just wrong. MPI VP of acquisitions Greg Newman had the following to add: “This is British horror at its most base, vile and rude; fans will love it.”

Let’s hope so. GNAW comes from director Gregory Mandry with Mike Bell and Max Waller penning the script. It stars Sara Dylan, Oliver Lee Squires, Rachel Mitchem, Nigel Croft Adams, Julia Vandoorne, Hiram Bleetman, Jennifer Wren, Carrie Cohen, and Gary Faulkner. We’ve also happened to score a look at the trailer for the flick over in our videos section. You can check that out by clicking through below.

The only other info Variety gives us is that GNAW has been chosen to screen at the Fantasporto festival in Portugal. Groovy. We’ll keep an eye on GNAW and let you all know when that US release date is announced.
