MTV to roll up a sequel to Redman and Method Man’s How High

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Bust out your Bulldog grinder, grab yourself a pack of Zig-Zags and get to rollin', because MTV is preparing to share a Dutchie with Universal 1440 Entertainment for a non-theatrical sequel to the stoner comedy HOW HIGH, which starred Method Man and Redman.

The followup is set to be written by Artie Johann (BIG MOUTH) and Shawn Ries (FAMILY GUY, FUTURAMA), and will tell the twisted tale of two young but business-savvy stoners who embark on a pot-filled odyssey through Atlanta to find their missing weed, only to uncover a vast government conspiracy.

The sequel is expected to shoot in Atlanta in the late Summer as a production of Universal 1440 Entertainment, the production arm of Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. Those familiar with the label will know that they develop and produce live-action and animated non-theatrical ventures for distribution across all manners of media.

Directed by Jesse Dylan (KICKING AND SCREAMING, AMERICAN WEDDING) and written by Dustin Lee Abraham (THE RUNNER), HOW HIGH was released in 2001 and starred rappers Method Man and Redman of the Wu-Tang Clan as two guys who one day decide to smoke something magical, which eventually helps them to ace their college entrance exam. In the years since its release, HOW HIGH has joined the pantheon of other stoner classics such as CHEECH & CHONG: UP IN SMOKE, HALF-BAKED, and FRIDAY.

Will you puff, puff pass on another HOW HIGH movie, or are you down to clown with this sequel? Let us know in the comments section below.
